Interior Decorating Trends
Interior Decorating Trends are an Evolution of Style, Space and Color. Similar to Trends in Fashion people's taste change and so does the Style of everything that surrounds us...including the way we live. Economy, Politics and Society have a tremendous influence on Trends in Design and Decorating. The major Interior Design Trend we see today is "Simplicity" in Style. Whether you like Traditional Design or your taste is more Modern today we see home and office interiors that are cleaner and less complicated. Think about how this Trend may have developed. Ask yourself...do you long for a less complicated life? There is a good chance that your answer is a resounding "YES". This need for Simplistic Style is a Trend that is a reflection of how we "FEEL" in general about our lives today. Another Trend we see in Interior Design is the use of Space. For instance, many people today no longer use their formal dining rooms. Conversely, most households have at least one computer? As a result many people convert their dining rooms into multi-use spaces. We re-designed a dining room for one of our clients into an inviting area for her read or do computer work. In this design we also included a beautiful sleeper sofa so this new space could be converted into a cozy guest room. This Trend is obviously influenced by a change in the way we use Space.
Yet another important aspect of Interior Design Trends is Color. Observing Colors Trends used in the Fashion Industry is usually a good indication of what colors will eventually become popular in Interior Design. For example bright pink, greens and oranges are some new colors in Women's Fashion. Guarantee these colors will become more popular for Interiors over the next year. Take a look at a Fashion Magazine if you are searching for the up and coming colors that will seen in Interior Decorating and Design! The good thing about Interior Decorating Trends is that we gradually accept new ideas. When you are first introduced to a new Trend you may feel that you will never like that "Style" or paint a room that "Color" but after continued exposure you start to warm up to the idea. You may even embrace a new Trend. Think about bell bottoms jeans. They were popular in the 1960's. When the style became hot again in the 1990's it took most of us some time to get use to the idea. Now we are back to straight legs...and the cycle continues. As you can see...we are all influenced by trends. Although many Styles of Interior Design and Decorating exsist today understanding the latest Trends in Design is more than just being TRENDY! ! !
