section of this website. Once you have settled on a basic color you may still need advice about how to choose that perfect shade. As I mention throughout the website the most successful way to choose paint color is to use a fabric, piece of artwork, or some other major color focal point to help you choose the right shade of paint. If this space has mostly neutral color furnishings and accessories you can use just about any color that you like. If you have a favorite painting or a beautiful wall hanging that you would like to showcase choose a paint that will compliment that piece. For instance, if you have a large piece of artwork that has mainly greens and browns with just touches of soft gold. Use the soft gold accent color as your main wall color. Guarantee the painting will come to life when you hang it on the wall. If possible try to bring your fabric, pillow, painting, etc to the paint store. Many establishments have spectrometers which are devices that can match a color. This can be a great way to get a custom color and there is usually no additional fee associated with this service. If you choose to pull paint color samples from the store always be sure to look at your selection in the room that is to be painted along with the item that you are trying to compliment. Also try to look at the combination in natural light which will also give you the range of color. Interior Artificial light can make a color look more saturated than natural light. It is a good idea to check the color both inside and outside. Don't be afraid to ask for help! Most good paint stores have people that can assist in color selection. Very often these professionals have a good eye for color and can offer valuable advice if you are not a "Color Expert". Choosing Paint Color creates the "Back Drop" to a beautiful room. Whether the color is bold and dramatic or soft and relaxing the correct color can make a space truly you own. If you need more help developing your next Design Project visit
